Every member of Naukri.com has the flexibility to create multiple profiles. With a single account, you can create multiple profiles with a separate set of details and even a different attached resume. You can choose to have any one of those profiles as ‘Active’ (that is, searchable by recruiters), and you can apply to a particular job with any of those profiles.

For instance, a fresher (or even a recent MBA graduate) might not want to restrict herself/himself to a particular field to start the career in. A fresher is open to all kind of good opportunities and since it’s the beginning of a career, the more the options, the better start a fresher gets.  To apply to different kinds of jobs, the fresher, or the MBA, might want to use different profiles.

This may also be very beneficial for users with experience in multiple backgrounds. A single profile cannot do justice to their expertise and their achievements that span across multiple fields/Industries. By creating multiple profiles they can also select to display/let the recruiters view the most suitable profile.

Creating multiple profiles is very simple. One can follow the steps mentioned below –

Step 1 – Login to you Naukri.com account using your Email id & password

Step 2 – Under the ‘MyNaukri’ tab on the Navigation bar on top, click on ‘Add a New Profile’ and follow the instructions.

Step 3 –Repeat above steps if you want to create more multiple profiles.

Step 4 – Select the one profile you want to make “Active” (searchable by recruiters) out of all the profiles you’ve created. You can still, however, apply to a job using any of these multiple profiles.

While looking for a job, the most common concern for jobseekers is confidentiality and privacy of their personal and professional details. We understand this and have addressed this concern by letting you keep your job search as confidential as you want it to be.

Here is how you can ensure a confidential job search while enjoying the benefits of being a member of Naukri.com:

1) At Naukri.com, mentioning your name and employment details is not mandatory. You can be a member of Naukri.com without mentioning your name and current job/designation.
Benefit: Recruiters will be able to find your CV and contact you, but will not know your personal details until you choose to share them.

2) You can select the companies from which you want to keep your resume hidden, and block those companies from viewing your resume. You can do this from under ‘Privacy Settings -> Block Companies’ on your MyNaukri page.
Benefit: All the recuiters except the ones you have blocked will be able to contact you. Thus, you get to choose who views your resume.

3) You can make your CV invisible/unsearchable to all the recruiters and companies. You can do this from the ‘Change Settings’ link on your MyNaukri page. However, you may miss out on unadvertised job opportunities. Use this option only if you are very concerned about confidentiality.
Benefit: No recruiter or company will see your resume, but you can apply to jobs you want to. This ensures complete privacy of your profile without affecting your job search.

Here’s some great news for savvy internet users who spend more time on the social web ;-)

We at naukri are continuously focused on making it easier for our users to search and find jobs. In the spirit of that objective, we bring you “NaukriOnChat” ! It’s the power to search for jobs - anytime and anywhere without even logging on to http://www.naukri.com/
In fact, it is as simple as chatting to someone.. Because that’s precisely what it is !

Using Gtalk open APIs, we just developed a tool that enables all Gtalk users to search for jobs on naukri.com by simply chatting with our bot. All you need to do is add “jobs@chat.naukri.com” to your friends’ list and you are ready to go.
If you are a Gtalk user - you can search and find jobs and if you are registered with naukri.com , you can also apply to the jobs that you like - using this medium.

Though the prime intent behind this tool was simplifying the online job-search experience for jobseekers, as a by-product - if your organization has blocked www.naukri.com - don’t fret cause this would help you search for jobs despite that ;-) Moreover, if your boss is in your cubicle, he/she would not even come to know that you are searching for jobs on naukri.com !

So this is how it would work :

Cheers !

One often hears complaints on how a company/service provider is not up to the mark when it comes to welcoming feedback. Earlier, in a closed economy of monopolies, companies looked inwards for ideas/suggestions/critical feedback, and did not expect its consumers to be part of the chain.

But not today. Welcome to the concept of “the word of mouse”.

The internet has changed the way information travels and has empowered the users like never before. One click of a mouse can open new avenues for communication. A spark of a new idea or a critical appraisal- the word can be spread with the mouse.

Conscientious companies seek feedback and response on customer experience pro-actively, and use it as valuable input for product enhancements; and Naukri is no different.

We have made efforts to make it easy for you to reach us and that the feedback reaches the relevant person. So when you visit out site next, check out the footer of the site:

Simply click on the link to tell us about any issue you are facing.

You can call us or simply submit a comment/feedback. We promise to revert within 2 business days. This footer runs across entire Naukri.com site for easy access.

If you happen to be a paid subscriber of the Resume services we do the following to welcome your feedback regarding your experience with the services:

1. When we email you the bill/receipt of your payment, we send you a link through which you can stay in touch.

2. You can also find this link when you log into Naukri.com:

3. A simple click takes you to the details of your subscription details, with respective links to contact us for any issue/concern.

Any issue received is answered within 2 business days.

4. Once the services are delivered, we do an online survey to ask for critical feedback.

We value our users, paid or otherwise, and want your experience to be good. We are eager to stay in touch and listen to what you have to say. We hope you make the most of these tools!

When you buy an 800cc car, the most basic version, if you’re a/c is powerful or if the suspensions are comfortable, you are pleasantly surprised.

Now imagine yourself driving a shiny new SUV that just made you 20 Lac poorer. Suspension & A/c would be the last things on your mind. You would more likely look at the 4-wheel drive cruise-control, ABS features and the elegant leather upholstery.

Ok, the point I am trying to make is, with a superior product the basics are ignored as they are presumed to be present and expected to be better than ordinary.

With Naukri, finding the best, most recent, and most relevant jobs is the basic 800cc model. What becomes your leather upholstery is, when without asking you we delight you with what you have been looking for.
So without trying to sound magnanimous, we would like to appreciate the efforts/work of our Product manager. Product Manager team’s challenge was to improve the user experience while searching for jobs on Naukri.com.

So after you have spent some time on our site, finding & applying for jobs, the logic built by Product Manager is smart to know your preferences and basis which it intelligently but discreetly suggests you “Naukri recommends”!

So when you log-into your account you see our recommendation:

And again after you apply to jobs and land on to apply confirmation page:

Our idea was to learn from your preferences and prompt you, without disturbing you.

Would you like to share your feedback with Product Manager? Write to him, he’ll be eagerly waiting.

If you are looking for a job, chances are that everyday (behind your bosses & co-worker’s back) you would apply to dozens of jobs. And I assume if you are a rational applicant, you carefully read the job details, see your fitment and then apply. So, the big question is why don’t you receive as many calls from recruiters as the job applications you make? Is expecting half these recruiters to call back too much to ask?

We would like to help you here. Your application may be relevant, you may possess just the skill-set & experience required for the job, and you may have company! But, there may be many co-applicants like you who have applied to the same job, thereby vying for the recruiter’s attention.

Next time you wonder what your chances are, remember to check this out once you apply to a job that meets your criteria.

Once you click on ‘application status’ link, you land on the following page -

For your benefit we may be adding some more criteria to the above table of applicant comparison in future to know your co-applicant better.
You can also find this information in your job apply history.
We feel this information will help you rationalize. Let us know if there is something more we can do to alleviate your anxiety. We’d love to.

Everyone loves numbers/data/MIS….Isn’t that what we check each morning when we reach office? How many mails have I received? How many meetings are scheduled for today? What all reports do I need to submit by this week-end…..the list for numbers and data is endless.

So we thought you’d be eager to know how many and which consultants/recruiters have seen your CV on Naukri.com today….
or for the entire one month

You can just get in here once you are logged in to see a message Resume Views by Recruiters: 57 times View Details. All the recruiters/consultants who have viewed your resume may or may not contact you for the simple reason of cut throat competition. May be you are the most suitable candidate for the vacancy, but someone is even more than you. May be you have all the potential to turnaround the business, but someone else was destined for it. But not an issue, this is not the last train, and stations are many. Just be active, keep logging in, updating profile, searching for job and applying the most relevant job to you, all with more alacrity.

Besides being just numbers, what it can also tell you is, whether your resume is described/formatted/filled-in in a manner that it catches attention.

Tell us if you found this helpful.

Your Job Search ends here, as you have found the Jobs that you were looking for. Now, all you need to do is express your candidature for these jobs that have appeared as a result of your search.

Clicking the ‘Apply button’ would send your profile to the recruiter as an Application to the advertised job(s).

But before hitting the “Apply button” ask yourself the following questions: -

  • Does my profile match the Job’s Description in terms of the roles & responsibilities that will be assigned to me?
  • Do I have the experience that matches this Job’s Requirement?
  • Am I qualified enough for this Job?
  • Do I need to relocate for this Job, if yes, am I willing to?
  • Does the CTC of the job (If Displayed) meet my expectations?

To answer these questions, one must look at the Job in Detail. Before Applying, click on the Job to open a detailed view of the job which contains all the Job information for that particular Job provided by the recruiter. We strongly recommend you to see the job’s requirements in detail, before you apply. The closer is your profile to this Job’s requirements, the higher the chances of you getting selected by the recruiter.

As a platform between the jobseeker & the recruiter, we aim at providing you with the freshest jobs& the easiest ways to search these jobs. But, after you have applied to the jobs you liked, our role is limited. The decision of who to shortlist rests purely with the recruiter.

So, if you’ve applied to a lot of Jobs, and are not getting any suitable responses, we suggest some tips that will definitely help -

  • Make sure you are applying to the right job, and you have gone through the job in detail.
  • Make sure your contact details (Phone Number and Email) are updated, so that if a recruiter wishes to call you, he does not face any problems. It’s best to verify your Email ID and Phone number.
  • Make sure your resume is up-to-date. Recruiters always ask for updated resumes.

Spare a thought for the above questions. If the answer is “Yes, this Job is for me…” go ahead andApply!

Now all you need is a little bit of patience and luck!

We are always eager to hear from you! Do let us know whether you found this information useful.

Welcome to the Naukri product blog for job seekers. The purpose of this blog is to discuss how the many features of Naukri.com can be used better by you to find the job you are looking for.

We like to believe we are smart. We probably are but the truth is that our best ideas come from our customers - that is to say from recruiters and job seekers.

What we try to do is listen, observe and understand – and then join the dots and improve the site in a manner that it works for our visitors better.

We make hundreds of changes to Naukri.com every year – some big, some small, some that are visible on the site some that visitors cannot see but which work at the back to make the site work better.

In this blog we will talk about how you can use the site – the nuances, some tips and tricks, some basic stuff, some new features, the changes when they are made, answers to your questions – basically how the smart job seeker should use Naukri.

For instance how to fill the resume form better to come out in relevant searches when recruiters search our resume database. Or how to get more relevant job alerts from us. Or how to do better job searches to find all the relevant jobs on the site. Or how to get relevant jobs by SMS. What is the utility of the the View Similar Jobs feature. How do I minimise chances of my current employer seeing my resume on Naukri. When should I sort the job search results by relevance and when by freshness. How does my CV look when a recruiter searches it. What are the fields in the resume form that a recruiter searches. And lots of other smart stuff you can do on Naukri.

So keep reading this blog. Put your comments. Ask your questions. We are here to help you find that better job.
