That is, say, if a job requirement is for the city of Mumbai, then the recruiter is more likely to contact a candidate who prefers to work in Mumbai than a candidate who has either not mentioned a preference at all, or has mentioned his/her preference to work in, say, Hyderabad.

Now that you know about benefits of creating multiple profiles & most probably already have created one, we give you another important feature to utilize your multiple profiles.
If you have more than one profile, when you apply to a job, you will be given an option to select the profile with which you want to apply to that particular job. So how does it help?
Since all your profiles would (& ideally should) highlight your specific skill sets and professional background, not every profile is suitable for every kind of job. Different jobs require you to position yourself differently sometimes. That is when recruiters would get to see your details which fit in the job requirements the most, and this increases your chances of getting shortlisted. Simply select the right profile for every job you apply to, from the Profile Selection Page.
If, however, you do not wish select a different profile on every apply, this feature can be turned off from the “My Naukri” page below “My Profiles”.

Naukri introduces Profile Recommendations - Now you can add recommendations from your colleagues, seniors at work, or professors to your job applications!
It is a widespread HR practice to take ‘references’ during the hiring process- to verify your credentials and take note of your strengths and weaknesses as perceived by seniors at your previous places of work. Usually HR carries this exercise out after they have interviewed you. But you could improve your chances of getting shortlisted if you send those recommendations along with your job applications itself.
This is why Naukri has gone a step ahead to let you showcase professional recommendations on your Naukri profile. We call them Profile Recommendations. The important thing to note is that this will be completely confidential. That is because your professional recommendations will be sought through, and displayed on, Brijj.com (a Naukri.com venture). So you need not be concerned that your requests for a recommendation will disclose your job-hunt exercise.
Brijj.com is a professional networking and career site from the people of Naukri.com, which lets you create a powerful professional networking profile. From Brijj.com you can request your colleagues or seniors to recommend the work you have done in previous and current jobs/positions. The recommendations are only for your profile on Brijj, not for your profile on Naukri.com - and in your requests for a recommendation it is not disclosed that you are registered on Naukri.com.
If you are already a Brijj member, all you need to do is send out requests for a Recommendation to any number of people. Then, you may choose to approve or disapprove the recommendations you receive. It is only the list of approved recommendations that will now be displayed on your Brijj profile (and thereafter can be linked with your Naukri Profile). If you are not yet registered on Brijj.com, but are a member of Naukri.com, then a quick, one-click process from here enables your membership with Brijj. Yes, it’s that easy.
Remember, it is a simple three step process:
1 - Login to your Brijj.com account and ask for recommendations
2 - Accept the recommendations you want to showcase on Brijj.com
3 - Finally, just click on ‘Attach Recommendations’ to attach the link to those accepted recommendations on your Naukri profile.
Now, whenever recruiters receive your job application through Naukri.com they will also receive the link to the recommendations on your profile on Brijj.com. You can get started right away! Simply login to your MyNaukri Account and click on the link ‘Add/Manage Recommendations from Brijj.com’.

Every member of Naukri.com has the flexibility to create multiple profiles. With a single account, you can create multiple profiles with a separate set of details and even a different attached resume. You can choose to have any one of those profiles as ‘Active’ (that is, searchable by recruiters), and you can apply to a particular job with any of those profiles.
For instance, a fresher (or even a recent MBA graduate) might not want to restrict herself/himself to a particular field to start the career in. A fresher is open to all kind of good opportunities and since it’s the beginning of a career, the more the options, the better start a fresher gets. To apply to different kinds of jobs, the fresher, or the MBA, might want to use different profiles.
This may also be very beneficial for users with experience in multiple backgrounds. A single profile cannot do justice to their expertise and their achievements that span across multiple fields/Industries. By creating multiple profiles they can also select to display/let the recruiters view the most suitable profile.
Creating multiple profiles is very simple. One can follow the steps mentioned below –
Step 1 – Login to you Naukri.com account using your Email id & password
Step 2 – Under the ‘MyNaukri’ tab on the Navigation bar on top, click on ‘Add a New Profile’ and follow the instructions.
Step 3 –Repeat above steps if you want to create more multiple profiles.
Step 4 – Select the one profile you want to make “Active” (searchable by recruiters) out of all the profiles you’ve created. You can still, however, apply to a job using any of these multiple profiles.
